We've almost made it to the weekend! I just wanted to fill you in on what happens with homework in my class.
Students will have reading, math, and vocabulary every day. They are to read for 30 minutes and record their time on the monthly reading log that is turned in at the end of each month.
Math homework will usually consist of pages cut out of the math manual we use in class. Every great once in a while we will have other pages but not very often.
Vocabulary homework will be based on the words that are sent home on Monday. I sent home a green paper with different activities. In a couple weeks I will be sending home a bingo that they will do, but until then, it's independent practice. They have a test on Friday on their vocabulary so practicing the words at home prepares them for that. No record it turned in for this, but please make sure your student is practicing.
A homework reminder sheet will be sent home and emailed every week on Thursday. All of the homework for the week is due on Friday morning when students get to school. I have attached the homework reminder sheet to this email. The homework reminder sheet is to be signed by a parent/guardian. All work must be in order and will be stapled together at school.
Any missing homework (and work in general) will be completed at recess in school. It can also be taken home as long as it comes back.
Please let me know if you have any questions! It always takes time to get into the swing of things, and I hope this email answered any questions you might have had.
